Though not on a beach, the setting of the pool/restaurant is dreamy, beautifully sited on a lava coastline with extensive views of mountain and ocean, magical at sunset. The pool itself, while, not large, is nicely designed to feel like a series of small lagoons that give a true resort feeling. The salt water made the experience even more luxurious. The hot tub is especially nice, with a natural gravel floor. In short: the pool area really makes the place stand out, and the fact that there is a limited number of guests makes it feel almost private. We had dinners several nights, and the food was generally of a high quality-- I especially loved the fresh fish sandwich! The poolside setting was attractive, again -- magical at sunset. The staff -- both at the restaurant and check-in-- was extremely friendly and attentive. Overall, the property is nicely landscaped, well maintained and very comfortable. Our unit was tastefully designed and in good condition overall. Everyone in our family was happy we chose Halii Kai!

First of all, the grounds are SO well maintained and absolutely beautiful!! We had quite a few extremely windy days and there was always a crew of grounds-people cleaning up after the winds. They really care about the landscape and flora here. I read several reviews about the Ocean Club rules...and this is true. They are very strict in there and poolside. But by no means a deal breaker. Just be resigned to eat/drink their items and/or fill up b4 you go in. :-) BTW...Kathy (server in Ocean Club) is THE BEST!!

Beautiful condo/resort and near shops and restaurants. Loved going to Island Gourmet Market for our groceries, food, and other essentials for the condo. The restaurants nearby are expensive so Island Gourmet was a nice relief from the expense of the food places. There is a small farmer's market at King Shops and we ate food from the vendors. Really nice. The condo has plenty of room for a large family. Helen at the front office was helpful.

Loved the comfort of the entire unit as it was large enough for the 5 of us! The grounds were well kept and everything was so clean! Everyone was very friendly too! The pool was so relaxing and happy hour was fun too! I also thought the code entry was a plus since you didn't have to fumble around trying to locate the card or key for entry. It made it so much easier. I felt like anything we needed, just ask the desk or call them.

We stayed in Unit 18G, Family Suite it was very accommodating and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, and basic household needs. We had an extra bonus with a closet full of beach toys, cooler, boogie boards, chairs and snorkel gear. Our unit was an up dated unit and the view was beautiful from the balcony's.
